Hospital Construction

The multidisciplinary approach of the Arch&Tech firm. Interview with Pietro Li Castri and Samantha Li Castri of the Arch&Tech firm in Palermo

Form or function?
In the eternal dichotomy that has characterized the debate between engineering and architecture for decades, hybrid theories, middle grounds, and shades of gray of varying intensity between black and white have been grafted.

Form follows function” and conforms to its utility, a concept expressed by the acronym FFF, coined by Louis Sullivan, mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright, in the 1896 treatise “The Tall Office Building Artistically Considered.”

The search for a harmonious compromise between the aesthetics of a volume and its rational practicality has been skillfully combined by Arch&Tech, a design firm based in Palermo, where the equivalence between the two factors has characterized the genesis and evolutionary process of this team of professionals.

We find Arch&Tech as the technical partner of the contractor “D’Agostino Costruzioni Generali” at the construction site of the new Sibaritide hospital in Calabria. This is one of the most imposing healthcare infrastructure projects in Southern Italy, which was taken over during construction to modernize outdated initial forecasts and bring them into compliance with the latest industry standards.
